They also added that Task Manager shows that your CPU is being used at 100% while the game is running. In other words, the game uses more system resources. It doesn’t matter if you are playing single player or multiplayer; the game is still lagging. It makes your gaming experience terrible.
This article goes over the solution to prevent Call of Duty Black Ops from lagging. Before going through the steps, I list these steps here:

Install the latest patches
It is always recommended to keep your computer up to date. The latest patches help you not only to fix bugs in software/games, improve security, but also improve performance.
For this game, please download the latest patches from the company’s website, if available.
Close unnecessary programs
Most of us keep programs running, downloading files, or copying files while playing games. This apparently uses higher resources for running programs and background tasks and thus causes Call of Duty Black OPS to lag.
So, before starting the game, close all running programs, end all unnecessary processes. Don’t keep downloading, copying or moving files while you play. This will help your computer focus on running the game instead of programs and processes running in the background.
Check the system requirements

While playing Call of Duty, you may notice a process called Steam running in the background. It is not necessary at that time. Therefore, you can either cancel it or set it to a lower priority.
Let’s see how:
1. Close the game and press the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys at the same time.
2. Task Manager will open.
3. Click the Processes tab to explore all processes running in the background.
4. Right-click on the Steam.exe process and select End Process to end it. If you don’t want to cancel it, set a lower priority by right-clicking and selecting Set Priority -> Low.
5. Confirm your action when prompted.
6. Close Task Manager.
Set higher priority for the game
Setting a higher priority for the game will make the computer focus on the game and Black OPS lags will surely be reduced on your PC. Processes set to High priority are given more focus to perform than processes set to Normal or Low priority.
As above, firstly, we will scan all processes from Task Manager and then change the priority. Let’s see how:
1. Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time.

4. Right-click on the blackopsmp.exe process and select Set Priority -> High.
5. Confirm your action when prompted.
