Corporate values ​​- Coexistence

Corporate values ​​have a purpose and therefore each value has a certain focus to serve that purpose. Some values ​​are customer-focused (sympathy), others are more product-oriented (we value knowledge) and others are resource-focused (integrity, ethics, professionalism).

Kindness is a value that focuses on the general climate. It does not have a specific goal like many other values, but it indirectly serves the organization.

According to Merriam Webster, conviviality is: “related to, busy with, or fond of banquets, drink, and good company: a pleasant host, a pleasant gathering.” Synonyms (from the dictionary of synonyms): merriment, sociability, entertainment, revelry, revelry

Examples of how these values ​​are used are:

  • 1. We consider work a social place, with room for humor and warmth. Not in a place where you turn off your personality.
  • 2. Kindness is more than a value: above all, it is a state of mind. The Group promotes the exchange of knowledge, openness and direct and simple relationships between employees to empower teams and foster cooperation between subsidiaries
  • 3…. To serve them (customers) well… we have to demonstrate our ability to listen, our ability to anticipate their expectations, our sense of coexistence…
  • 4. Fun… is the feeling that one has when one is proud of what one does and… it is also a special sense of conviviality.

Climate has always been important to organizations, but it doesn’t always get the proper attention. It is also difficult to manage a climate. How do you handle fun? how you measure it (employee surveys: “Are you having fun at work?”) and how you encourage a positive climate. It is easier to detect a negative environment. But turning it into a positive is more complicated.

What would coexistence negatively influence: competition? Will the individual bonus negatively influence the general climate of the office? It will, so friendliness will have to be combined with a team bonus.

Where is it needed? Usability? For example, in a professional environment where individual professionals must share knowledge. Not in a call-center, or in a production area, but above all in places where individuals have their own responsibility, ample autonomy and apparent independence, but where interaction is important.
