The NHL Playoffs are about to start, the second season is ready to start.

The 2009-2010 NHL season started with 30 teams, we’re down to the last 16.

Eight will represent the Western Conference and eight the Eastern Conference.

The Eastern Conference Representatives are as follows, Capitals, Devils, Sabers, Penguins, Canadians, Flyers, Bruins, and Ottawa.

The Western Conference features the Black Hawks, Sharks, Canucks, Predators, Redwings, Avalanche, Kings, and Coyotes.

The matchups are as follows in the East: Heavy favorites, No. 1 seed Washington Capitals vs. No. 8 seeds, Montreal Canadians No. 2 seed New Jersey Devils vs. No. 7 seeds , the Philadelphia Flyers, the third-seeded Buffalo Sabers, against the number six Boston. Bruins and the number four seeded Pittsburgh Penguins against the number five seeded Ottawa Senators.

Puck Video Predictions in the first round. Washington Capitals in five games, Philadelphia Flyers in seven games, Buffalo Sabers in six games and the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games as well.

Heading west, repeat number one San Jose Sharks will take on the Colorado Avalanche, number two Chicago Black Hawks, and number seven Nashville Predators will square off, third-seeded Vancouver Cancuks, and the The sixth-seeded Los Angles Kings and the number four-seeded Phoenix Coyotes will face the defending Western Conference champions, the five-seeded Detroit Redwings.

Some good matchups in the West, but expect the San Jose Sharks to get revenge for their early exit last season with a sweep of the Avalanche, the Black Hawks will outplay the Predators in five games, and now the good guys. The Kings and Cancuks will go seven games with home court advantage in the way of Cancuks. The Redwings have been the hottest team in the league since the winter break, expected to take down the optimistic Coyotes in six games.
