Putting together the puzzle of life

There are many challenges that are presented to each person in the game of life. While it is true that life is a puzzle to be solved, we can do it. We need to take each piece at a time and put it in the right place. To improve yourself and find happiness in life, the pieces of the puzzle must fit together.

When we start in life, we don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle. Sometimes we get pieces of a puzzle that are difficult to guess. The new pieces may not fit into the puzzle, but eventually they will all come together to create the answers.

Memories and love are pieces of the puzzle. Love brings happiness. When we do things that make sense in our lives, we can save them in our memory. These memories help bring joy in remembering the good times that happened. They help make a good puzzle picture and create happiness.

When Americans of Japanese descent were sent to the American concentration camps of World War II, their incarceration experiences created some bad memories. Although the camps did not contain the horror of the concentration camps where Jews were detained, tortured or even killed, these American camps were places where innocent people were imprisoned for no reason, except their ethnic origin, due to racism. The Constitution did not protect these American citizens who were unjustly persecuted.

Memories of those years spent in captivity brought unpleasant pieces to the puzzle of their lives. They were often challenged beyond imagination as they languished in unpleasant living conditions for years. Some people could not bear the trials they faced as they were suddenly cut off from normal society and lost almost all of their earthly possessions as well as their freedom. Their lives made little sense at the time.

It is up to us to put together the image of our lives. We need to consider each piece of the puzzle as part of the whole. Life can be meaningful and beautiful, but sometimes it seems like the pieces of the puzzle will never fit together. The difficulties and trials that arise in each person’s life can be overwhelming. It seems unlikely that the puzzle will ever come together in a satisfactory way.

It takes hard work and perseverance to make life’s puzzle pieces fit together. Japanese Americans who endured the pain and suffering of the appalling imprisonment of World War II had to work hard after their release from the camps to try to recoup the losses of those years. They needed to start over to try to piece together the puzzle of their lives. It wasn’t easy, but most of them didn’t give up when the going got tough. They persevered and kept working on the puzzle.

The puzzle of life can turn into a beautiful picture, but it takes a lot of effort to put the pieces together correctly to create a good life. We must not give up when challenges arise, and we must have faith that things will work out to put the puzzle together.
