A world of furniture in Hyderabad

what you see – Located in a corner of a building that is still being built, you wouldn’t know how to find Furniture World, Hyderabad. You will meet his richer cousin, Alqove, who specializes in vintage and designer furniture. He will explore a little more and will find that he resides on the top four floors of the building. Each floor in Furniture World is attributed to a section; for example, one floor caters to dining sets and tableware, another caters to cribs and bedroom accessories, and so on.

What you get – Being indecisive will not help you here. Starting from the seventh floor, the four floors here have plenty of variety to confuse you. There are dining table sets on the seventh floor, mostly made of teak or chromed metal with glass tops. A six seater teak table with a glass top and carved legs will cost Rs 30,000 and if you like more ornate carvings it can go as high as Rs 60,000. A metal dining table is priced at Rs 12,600 here and an oak wood table around Rs 36,900.

Most of these tables have glass tops, but some with marble tops are also on display. One of the interesting finds here is a red and black table with curvaceous designs and artificial leather chairs for Rs 27,900. They also have a compact 4-seater dining set, which is more like a huge box, perfect for serving quick meals to your family in the kitchen.

From the dining room, let’s go to the bedroom, which is on the ground floor. Most of the costs are teak or MDF (medium density fiberboard). A double cot (5 x 6.5) is priced at Rs 9,000 and a main bed (6 x 6.5) at Rs 15,000. They also offer bedroom sets that include a crib, end table, two closets, and dresser. If you opt for a queen size bed it would amount to Rs 40,000 and with a master bed it would be Rs 63,000. A nice find here was a smiling bed. With carved emoticons on the headboard and footboard, it’s a nice piece for a kid’s room. This would cost Rs 19,500 and can be easily disassembled. It also has storage space underneath.

Then, to relax, you have comfortable sofas on the fifth floor. The base is usually teak, they say. The cushion is made of foam and polyfil and is washable. A 3+1+1 set would cost about Rs 18,000 here. They also have corner sofa sets and lounge sofa sets. The colors are mostly muted, except for the use of a peach hue on some. Leather sofa sets are also available here. They also have racks for crockery from Rs8,000 to Rs30,000. Then there are the coffee tables and side tables. One of the side tables that caught our eye had its stand decorated with stars and a planet, in bright yellow and bright blue.

You can also take a look at the TV cabinets (basic or with a swivel top). The basic one would cost 4,500 rupees, but there are some that even go up to 40,000 rupees. Thats not all. They also have a children’s study table with a clock and two small shelves on each side, priced at Rs 1,999. For the children in the nursery, they also have small board games in the shape of a car. Here they also have padded rocking chairs priced at Rs 12,999, along with shoe racks and computer tables.

This place hardly offers seasonal discounts. But they usually have their settlement in November or February.

The verdict – They have almost all the furniture you would need for your home. The prices are more or less reasonable. The staff has the numbers and other data at their fingertips. However, one thing you may need to check is the finish on some sofas. Furniture World has parking space available.
