Choose the perfect name:
1. Make sure the name you choose is one that you are not only happy with, but also one that you think your child will be happy with, after all, they will have to live with it for the rest of their life.
2. Many names are chosen on impulse or media fads, which may lead to better thinking in the future. You really have to focus and think about this long and hard, don’t rush to make a final decision.
3. Consider a name that is of some importance to your family. Many times there is a great reason to name someone after someone else in the family. This can lead to many stories that will keep the family heritage alive from your generation to the next.
4. Nicknames – This can be a very touchy subject because you may or may not want your child’s name shortened. Take a name like Christopher, in most cases the child will be called Chris. This being the case, you should also consider how much you care about potential nicknames.
5. The different spelling of common names has become quite popular in the 21st century. For example, let’s look at the name Katie. This is just my interpretation of the spelling of this name, however there are several more: Katy, Katey, Kattiy, Katiy, Caty, etc. All of these can be pronounced in the same way, but they give a bit more uniqueness to the more common spellings.
