Examples of the Use of Solar Energy in the World

It is widely known that there are two basic possibilities of solar energy, namely the processing of solar radiation into heat or electricity. Modern solutions based on obtaining energy from the sun are very different and are used to a greater or lesser extent in different parts of the world.

One of the countries in which the development of solar energy in recent years, China is very dynamic. This is probably due to the huge energy consumption of the Chinese economy and its favorable geographical position. The average annual intensity of solar radiation in China is about 4,500 MJ/m2 (4,500 kWh/m 2 ).

In the period 2005-2010, China plans to spend about 1.25 billion US dollars on solar energy development. The main use of the sun’s energy in China is for water and building heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and electricity generation in photovoltaic systems.

Interesting use of solar energy takes place in Japan. It has found that the snow melting system fails on the road. The village was placed in the roadway Ninohne tube heat exchangers, which are located between the surface and the working medium flowing through. This installation has been combined with another battery of vertical floor heat exchangers, which are also a source of heat in winter and store energy in other seasons. To increase the working temperature of the heated plate that a road has, and thus melt snow and ice, the system was coupled with a heat pump.

In the summer the sun heats the road to record temperatures and some of this energy is stored as heat in the deeper layers of the soil for later use in winter.

Rather, Canada was founded in the town of Okotoks Drake Landing Solar estate Community. It consists of 52 residential buildings in which sanitary hot water and heating are supplied, heated by solar energy. Solar batteries were placed on the roofs of the garage, and the installation of underground heat storage was also included. An interesting example is the construction of settlements in Germany. The village was founded on the Neckasulm estate heated by solar energy. The ground heat storage system works here with solar collectors. Solar energy is stored during the summer season in an underground warehouse, and then used for heating in winter. The world little by little seeks to acquire solar energy not only heat but also electricity. New are the systems that allow the simultaneous acquisition of these two types of energy. These systems are called hybrids. They represent a kind of combination of the collector with photovoltaic modules; said combination increases the effectiveness of the installation and saves space used by the installation.
