How To Get More Followers On Twitter: 5 Ways To Get More Followers

It seems like everyone is an expert at getting more followers on Twitter these days. Many of these people will, of course, teach you their methods of building a large Twitter following for a fee.

Some people claim that their software will also help you build a Twitter following.

But while it may feel good to have a large following on Twitter, this isn’t a pure numbers game. Reminds me of the good old days of internet marketing, actually. Back then, list builders were just trying to get as many people as possible regardless of the quality of the people on those lists.

For example, in 2003, I bought a co-registration list of 100,000 subscription emails. Although it wasn’t spam because people had signed up, it wasn’t a quality list and never turned into a profitable investment.

Why?

Because I had no relationship with those people!

That’s what you need to remember about Twitter. You are still trying to build a relationship. If all your tweets are a promotion for some affiliate product and that’s all you tweet about, you won’t find your Twitter marketing to be as effective.

How to get more twitter followers

Ok, now let’s see the reason why you are probably reading this article, you want to know how to get more people to follow you on Twitter.

Tweet regularly

Quite simply, if you want people to follow you, you have to have something to say. Some people are tweeting all day every day. Personally, I think it’s a bit excessive. I usually tweet somewhere between 2-4 times a day and usually send a mix of content and offers (more content than promotional offers)

personalize

You need to customize your avatar and bio. If you want, you can even go as far as getting a custom Twitter background. The background is optional, but have a custom avatar (a photo of yourself is recommended) and write something creative in your bio.

Follow

This is another fairly easy way to build a following. Just follow other people. I follow people who I think will interest me and who I think might also be interested in what I have to say. And I’m not afraid to unfollow someone if I find their Tweets annoying. For example, if someone is basically posting front page news, I’ll immediately unfollow them as I find the news depressing and don’t want to see it on my Twitter account.

Put “Follow me” buttons on your blogs

If you blog (which you should), be sure to run a plugin of your most recent activity, or at least put something in the sidebar to tell people to follow you.

tell your subscribers

Here’s another easy way to get more followers if you already have a list. Tell them how to follow you on Twitter. Remember that ISPs do not block Twittering and there is no spam folder. Your messages always reach everyone who follows you. And if you have multiple ways to reach people, they’re more likely to know you, like you, trust you, and ultimately buy from you.
