Stuffed animals have been around in history for a long time, dating back to the 19th century. The advent of homemade dolls made of cloth and stuffed with crude oil dates back to the 1830s. The modern term ‘taxidermy’ comes from the ancient trade of stuffing the skins of hunted animals for use as ‘stuffed animals’. With new innovations and advances in science and technology, this process has been replaced by synthetic materials to produce plush toys. The first company that dedicated itself to the production of stuffed animals was the company ‘Steiff’, located in Giengen an der Brenz, Germany, in the year 1880.

According to modern psychology, holding and stroking stuffed toys can have a calming and relaxing effect on children. There is a wide variety of stuffed animal toys available in the market these days. Therefore, it is important to choose the right type of stuffed animal for a child or an adult. A prior check of the person’s favorite animals or preferred material would help you make the right choice. Today, stuffed animals are available for almost every occasion. The size of the stuffed toy should always be selected based on the person, their likes and dislikes, and the space that can be easily allotted to the toy. A thoughtful and appropriate gift will always bring a smile to the recipient and it will stay there for a long time.
