Although, for generations, polls and polls indicate that politicians are held in much lower esteem than most other professions, occupations, etc., it seems that we are currently experiencing a period of time, in the United States, where this it has gotten even – worse, and the level of political hypocrisy is worrying to say the least, but realistically even – worse! Instead of seeking, using common sense, a meeting of the minds for the greater good, we are witnessing an alarming degree of this behavior, which is disgusting, alarming, troubling and harms the best interests of the nation, our citizens and the rest of the world! With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss 5 examples of this, and why American voters must demand more and better from elected officials, without delay!
one. Stimulus bill: Almost every nation in the free world has taken a variety of extraordinary steps to help its citizens better manage these extraordinary and challenging times. When a needed stimulus bill was introduced, instead of acting, without delay, to reduce pain and suffering, we proactively saw partisan behavior! Perhaps because the first bill was supported by then-President Trump, many members of his party supported it, however, when he further suggested that it be done, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his buddies, first, retarded, and then, diluted, profits! When President Joe Biden suggested a much-needed next stimulus, it barely got off the ground, strictly along party lines. This was not only hypocrisy, but it showed that many politicians seem to focus more on their personal/political agendas and self-interest than the greater good.
two. The impeachment process: No president, ever, was impeached by the House of Representatives, more than once, until the former president was! Instead of fulfilling their sworn constitutional duties, however, Republican senators seemed to largely ignore the facts and simply vote—along party lines!
3. Capitol Uprisings: How can someone, responsible, holder of an office, deny the danger, for the nation, of allowing insurrection and sedition? If we fail to uphold the sanctity of our elections and the process, we will no longer remain a country founded on certain principles!
Four. Heal Gun Safety: We authorize cars and many other things, but we place few restrictions on the possession of weapons. Although certain states have more stringent laws, without a national policy it is almost impossible to make them work effectively! Some declare that the 2nd Amendment provides the right to bear arms, but, in reality, it grants, establishes, the right to have a militia, and the Founding Fathers, could never have imagined, assault weapons, when their weapons, it took, well , more than a minute, to load. How many more must die, before our politicians get over their apparent fear, etc., of campaign funds and perceived payoff?
5. Tax issues: What could be more hypocritical than officials who pretend to oppose deficits, bring back and restore the conditions of many people, so heavily impacted by this horrible pandemic, while supporting the 2017 tax reform? legislation, which efficiently benefited the wealthiest Americans and the largest corporations?
Wake up, America, and let elected officials know that you are sick and tired of this pattern of behavior! Do this, before it gets worse!
