Competence is defined as a standard against which an individual’s performance is graded and learning needs are assessed in various aspects. This characteristic of an individual acts as a set of attributes that further classifies the characteristic traits of an individual, allowing them to offer their best in any environment or situation. This concept is widely used to evaluate the various aspects of a job. Competition plays an important role in defining the strategic decision-making process. Helps predict performance on a specific standard. The various traits of the individual accumulate to form the behavioral aspect.

The measurement of competence is a complex process as it includes various aspects of one’s behaviour, including skills, knowledge, self-image, motivation, its construction and many more, each defining the conceptual end of each definition. Although only attributed to a single trait, the concept of metacompetence covers more than one characteristic trait or behavioral concept. It is used as a standard to increase momentum on many aspects of the organization, such as sales and profit, through proper judgment and identification of opportunities and goals in the development process. Broadly covering numerous aspects, it provides a general assessment of many characteristics other than core competencies for any specific role. This review is typically done throughout the organization at various positions, levels, and departments, in a way that facilitates individual communication on both a conceptual and practical level.

It should be understood that the Meta competency is only applicable or can be used only in the sections where the subset competencies are already framed. This is useful to create a logical connection between each and provide an evaluative paradigm under any conditions or environment established for any role or job position in an organization. However, in case it is necessary to go deeper into the existing job, it can be used under a well-defined strategic level. This concept calls for a strategic mindset to create a conceptual and analytical framework to assess the various characteristics through the necessary environmental scanning and trend analysis.

There are numerous downsides to the Meta competency, even though it gives a general figure or acts as a logical connection for subset competencies. Unlike the competency mapping process, meta-competency mapping is comparatively complicated and demands proper knowledge about the various behavioral aspects and perspectives in connotation to the rationale behind the process. This concept cannot be used to capture the big picture unless it is followed by two or more sub-competencies. The predicted behavior content base of any competency helps frame an assessment analysis model, thus creating a meaningful prediction of performance. From this, it is possible to anticipate the level and depth of this concept that leverages the growth and performance of the entire organization or business unit.
