The wait is almost over: Nissan Micra review

The wait is almost over. The small car that has caught the attention of the nation and auto experts in India is soon to be launched. Micra has raised quite a storm in the Indian markets and the anticipation of the car lovers is through the roof for the famous Nissan brand. The proof of the pudding is in the fact that Nissan has already received over 1000 confirmed pre-order units in 4 weeks after the official pre-order was launched.

The promos have been thick and furious on TVs with Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor appearing in them. The ad is shot in style and highlights one of the USPs of the car, namely the power button. The car looks good and has already received some brakes. It looks small and I think girls will like it more than men who will prefer a more macho point. But appearances are quite subjective, so don’t take my views seriously.

Build quality is pretty good for a small-segment car. It is of high quality and has wide doors.

The interiors are spacious and even larger people can get into the car quite comfortably. The steering can be tilted to the correct position and this is a pretty neat feature that taller drivers will appreciate. The instrument console panel is quite spare due to cost reduction. Although the seat fabric is quite nice. Legroom in the rear is quite ample. All in all, Micra is roomy and airy.

The same cannot be said for boot space. There is enough space for a couple of small bags. But that’s a downside of small cars we’re all familiar with.

I couldn’t test the Micra because they are not available yet. The 1.2-litre Nissan Micra XE HR12 is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with VTC valve timing control). The vehicle is capable of generating a maximum power of 75 Bhp with a maximum torque of 104 Nm. The vehicle’s engine has been well tuned with the manual gearbox to make it very dynamic. The car has great visibility and a turning radius of 4.5 m, the best in its class. If you want better ride and handling characteristics, Nissan also offers the Micra XV, which is designed to be compact and capable of navigating rough surfaces at highway speeds.

Micra has many features that leave the competition behind. Power mirrors, rear wiper and defogger, automatic climate control, tilt adjustable steering, power windows all around, ABS, EBD, brake assist, keyless entry, airbags, push button start and engine immobilizer. I’m out of breath, but the list of features is not.

If you are looking for a car full of life and excitement, the Nissan Micra is the best choice for you!
