Types of jobs and salaries more familiar:

Management in Dubai jobs is well aware of the bad reputation of some companies and sectors for not paying their workers. The employee can file a complaint with the UAE Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. There is a procedure to follow and complaints are investigated and companies are sanctioned by including them on blacklists for hiring workers. Many complaints of non-payment are resolved in favor of the worker, but sometimes a case can drag on for months.

Working hours and holidays:

Most jobs in the United Arab Emirates are 5 days, 5 and a half or 6 days a week. The employee must make sure before signing. The working week changed from Saturday to Wednesday and Sunday to Thursday for the public sector. The private sector working week varies, but mostly follows the government sector, with Friday being a common holiday for all sectors. Public holidays come in two varieties: fixed (eg Eid, Jan 01, etc) and real days (unannounced, depends on moon views. Like Moharram).

Arabic is the official language of the United Arab Emirates, but English is the common denominator among the different nationalities working in Dubai, at least in the private sector. It is helpful for the employee to be able to speak Arabic, but not essential for most jobs.
