When it comes to social media and Twitter especially, you really have to be careful to believe everything you read.

While it is a great tool for spreading news and sharing interests with friends and family, Twitter, when used inappropriately to spread rumours, can also wreak havoc in the lives of girlfriends, boyfriends, Hollywood celebrities, family members, etc.

In the 20th century, it took a phone or a written note passed from hand to hand for rumors to spread like wildfire. But nowadays, all it takes is one tweet and the whole universe knows it. If placed in the wrong hands, Twitter can be a very destructive weapon or should I say a “social media weapon of mass destruction”.
