The Best Children’s Movies of 2009 by Popular Demand

When taking a look at what might be the best children’s movies in 2009, a number of different ideas can come in, such as strictly the “best” first-run movies, the best movie sales in theaters, the best by accolades from the criticism, etc., etc. .

I decided to summarize this topic in a simple list of movies that were the most popular by sales in the DVD and Blu-Ray formats; in fact, they include some new releases for 2009, but there are some re-releases. of the classics of this year that reach the top of the list.

And what a list! Here it is:

1. Disney Pixar Up – Yes, Disney and Pixar have done it again. This is one of the most entertaining Pixar movies to date! The story is about an elderly balloon seller who decides to fulfill his dream (in a way that many people would consider a bit unusual), and there are others who join him. This is a good movie for kids of any age and it’s a lot of fun!

2. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – The sixth year at Hogwarts brings the most adventures yet – Harry discovers his exact role in Voldemort’s final defeat. Another great Harry Potter movie, and a “must see” for any Harry Potter fan.

3. Coraline – This movie has the same director as The nightmare before christmas Y James and the Giant Peach. It could be considered the “darkest” of all! It’s about a girl named Coraline who wishes for major changes in her family relationships, but perhaps finds out that her life might not be so bad after all … (As a note, I personally don’t recommend this movie for very young children. her “creepy” nature and more than a little weird).

4. High School Musical 3: Senior Year – In this version of High School Musical, Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Chad, Ryan and Taylor are in their last year of high school and decide together to make it the most unforgettable year yet. A fun movie, especially for young people who love these characters and / or movies.

5. Pinocchio’s 70th anniversary – Here is the first of the “classics” in the list of the best movies for children of 2009, and it is a delightful movie for any age. The remake of this movie is quite spectacular, and the message of courage, honesty and integrity is always good.

6. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Yes, here’s another best-selling movie for kids this year! It’s impressive how the movie looks and sounds in digital format, especially on Blu-Ray. This is a favorite for very young children and little women too.

7. Dawn of the Dinosaurs in the Ice Age – The plot thickens for the unlikely prehistoric crew when Mannie and Ellie expect a little mammoth in their family. Create some cool crew changes and some pretty fun events take place. Funny movie!

8. 70th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz – This is the third and last of the classic movies on this list and it’s an amazing remake of the original. In my opinion, this is another movie that is not the best for very Toddlers – That wicked old hag might be a little scary, but it’s a fun movie for families and kids ages 6 or 7 and up.

9. Monsters vs. Aliens – This is one of the cutest and newest movies on this list! The topic has an interesting twist: what if monsters were actually the good guys? A fun choice and a good job from Reese Witherspoon, who plays the title character, Susan Murphy.

10. Bolt – Personally I think this is one of the most beautiful movies I have seen for children. It is about a dog who plays a superhero in the movies and begins to take the role too seriously. The plot thickens when he loses his owner and has to go out on his own to find her. John Travolta plays the role of Bolt and does a fabulous job!

Some may disagree with one or more of the above films in terms of what they consider to be the “Best Kids Movies of 2009,” but strictly in terms of popular demand, the selections above seem to include the definitive list. Speaking on a personal level, I think these are some of the best movies for kids.
