The third trimester weeks of pregnancy, which begins at week 27 and lasts until week 40, is the most exciting. You have a lot to learn and experience in this last stage of pregnancy.
Let’s take a look at each week of the last trimester, also known as the stage of the baby during pregnancy, for a better understanding.
week 27
Your baby’s brain, eyes, and lungs are still developing. You have an extra large belly, which makes it almost impossible for you to sleep on your back. It’s a good idea to get a pregnancy calendar.
week 28
Your baby can hear the sounds of the outside world. She is also able to recognize your voice now. So, he starts talking to her! The not-so-nice side of this week is that she could be experiencing indigestion, gas, back pain, skin rashes, and constipation right now. You can also gain a few extra pounds.
week 29
All five of your baby’s senses are working now. This is the time when your baby gains the plump fat that gives him the adorable cuteness! In addition to this, be prepared for strong mood swings and an intense desire to eat.
week 30
Your baby can now blink. She may not feel like sleeping as her baby puts pressure on the nerves and blood vessels in her back. Try to sleep on your side using comfortable pillows for support.
week 31
At this point, you have a grown baby inside of you. You may feel pain in your back and abdomen due to the expansion of the ligaments. This is the time to visit your doctor to check for calcium deficiency.
week 32
Your baby now weighs about 3.5 pounds. This is a difficult week for you as you will feel exhausted, constipated and your sore back won’t let you sleep. You will also be anxious about the due date of your pregnancy. Talking with your doctor or partner will relax you.
week 33
Your baby has a beautiful shade of pink and is now chubby! His tiny head has grown a little bigger. You may face problems like water retention, severe headaches, swelling of hands and face, and cramps. It is best to stay in contact with your doctor at this stage of your pregnancy development.
week 34
Be prepared for false labor contractions. Take a deep breath or change your position. The contractions will go away.
week 35
You can actually feel your baby move inside your womb!
week 36
Your baby is ready to go. It’s time to prepare for delivery.
week 37
You start to get the “nesting” syndrome, which makes you do strange things at this stage like cleaning your wardrobe, fixing furniture and others!
week 38
The baby changes position and his head is ready to come out. Labor can start at any time!
week 39
Your baby weighs 7 pounds and is ready to be born.
week 40
At last, you are about to deliver!
The third trimester pregnancy week is over and your bundle of joy is now in your arms!
