Recipes for a detox diet and your oxidation rate

Knowing your oxidation rate is critical information for your health. Its oxidation rate in simple terms is how fast does it burn food? Some people burn food slowly, while others burn it fast. In any case, knowing this critical information goes a long way in finding the right detox diet recipes and your health.

A person who burns food fast is called a fast oxidizer and a person who burns food slowly is called a slow oxidizer. A fast oxidizer needs more slow burning foods, such as a diet with more good, high quality fat and oil. Slow burning food is a good match for the fast oxidizer as that person will maintain energy.

In contrast, the slow oxidizer may have a diet of faster burning foods, such as grain products, but less fat and high-quality oil. So there’s a big distinction between the two in terms of your metabolic needs.

If your diet doesn’t match your oxidation rate, you’re not getting the right food for the rate at which your body burns food. This concordant element for a correct diet is one of the main keys to good health.

Now that you know your oxidation rate is critical, how do you find out your oxidation rate?

The key is your hair, even though your hair is dead, it is a storage site for all your macro minerals, trace elements and toxic metals. As the hair grows, these minerals and toxins are deposited in the hair over a period of 3-4 months. Through a hair mineral test and with the experience of a laboratory that properly examines your hair, you can determine your oxidation index. Once this vital information is known, you can pin down your exact diet for you and you alone. (See Analytical Research Laboratory)

No more guesswork! And for those of you who had a gut feeling that all foods don’t affect everyone in the same way, bravo, you were right and the two oxidation rates are why. An example would be if you are a fast oxidizer than a lot of grains, and fruits are not a great choice because grains and fruits burn very fast and for fast oxidation it is not possible to sustain energy. The fast oxidizer will always be hungry shortly after eating. I know that there are those who say that it is me, I get hungry an hour after eating and the reason is an incorrect diet.

Now, in contrast, if the fast oxidizer eats slow burning foods like eggs, olive oil, butter, or some nuts (for example), sustained energy will be produced and the urge to eat will slow down. Slow oxidizers have the opposite effect, they need and can eat faster burning foods that will maintain their energy levels.

So to simplify this, there are some people who are like a car speeding down a highway that burns fuel very quickly. (rapid oxidizer) And the other is the car driving slowly down a side street. (slow oxidizers)

If we take the analogy a step further, it’s like a car that needs unleaded gasoline, but you’re putting in some diesel fuel mixed with some unleaded gasoline. It’s the wrong fuel! It will work but not at its best and eventually repairs will be needed.

Now that the concept of oxidation and diet has been explained, let’s talk about the detox diet. The buzzword “detox diet” is thrown around often, but unless you know your oxidation rate, you may be eating the wrong food or the wrong food most of the time. Detox diets must be matched to a person’s rate of oxidation.

In this article, I present to you a sample meal plan for slow and fast oxidizers.

Recipes for the Detox Diet:

Slow Oxidizer Breakfast:

2 eggs with spinach omelet, in 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter

1 slice of plain Ezekiel bread

1/4 cup blueberries

Breakfast for Rapid Oxidizer:

2 eggs with spinach omelette, in 3 tablespoons of olive oil or butter

Organic 2 Link Turkey Sausage

1 stalk of celery with almond butter

In this example, the slow oxidation breakfast has much less fat and oil in your meal and is allowed to have a high quality grain product as well as a small amount of fruit. The slow oxidizer will burn that food slowly and keep you energized throughout the morning.

In contrast, the fast oxidizer needs more olive oil or butter in their diet and more fat and oil in the almond.

butter and turkey sausage. This food combination will burn slowly for the fast oxidizer and keep that person with sustained energy throughout the morning.

Lunch for the Slow Oxidizer:

4 oz grilled chicken breast, very light butter and garlic

1 cup steamed carrots with 1 teaspoon butter and sea salt

1/2 cup brown rice

Lunch for the Rapid Oxidizer:

4 oz grilled chicken thighs, made with a modest amount of butter and garlic

1 cup steamed carrots with 3 tablespoons butter and sea salt

Pecans 6-8

Again in this example, you can see that the slow oxidizer has much less fat and oil than the fast oxidizer.

Both have protein and vegetables. Slow has the grain (brown rice) fast has more fat and oil.

(dark meat chicken, butter and pecan) The slow has the chicken breast much less fat.

Dinner for the Slow Oxidizer:

4 oz Roasted Garlic Flounder with a Lemon Squeeze

Swiss chard with blueberries, small amount of olive oil

plain sweet potato

Dinner for fast oxidizer:

4 oz Garlic Butter Flounder

Chard with almonds and butter and olive oil

Sweet potato with 3 tablespoons of butter

Again we see that the slow oxidizer can have lemon flounder and the slow can have blueberries and plain sweet potato. The fast has the buttered flounder which has more fat and also the fast has more butter in the sweet potato and fat in the almonds.

These recipes are examples of the distinction between the oxidation rates of slow and fast individuals. Without knowing the rate at which your body burns food, all the detox diets in the world will have little to no positive effect and may even be harmful.

For example, the popular lemon detox diet is not a good choice for fast oxidizers, since its rate of oxidation requires food to burn more slowly. Lemon is a fruit and therefore burns very quickly and this type of detox regimen should be avoided.

Combining your body with the right detox diet, as well as combining your body with the correct supplements and lifestyle modifications are much healthier in the long run than fad diets or fad berry liquid drinks. Not only will you detox correctly and safely, your correct diet will have great effects on weight loss and weight gain. It’s very simple, know your oxidation rate!

I would like to quickly mention that as a general rule of thumb, avoid foods that have had something added or taken away from them. The best quality foods are those that are in a natural state like your great-grandmother ate.
